I would like to thank you for being such an inspirational tutor. You went above and beyond your call of duty in order to help the group achieve their goals. You were great fun too with a firm focus on learning. I joined the level 2 Digital art and Graphic Design course to help me refresh and develop my skills further but found I got a lot more beside. I learnt new skills in Photoshop and Illustrator and enjoyed the freedom of being creative again. You helped me gain confidence back and I thank you so much for that. Your personality is infectious….and so talented as a tutor/designer too. I wish you all the best with your next group. You will be greatly missed.

I have nothing but positive comments to make about the course and the staff who deliver it. I’ve never been in a college environment. To say I was nervous about starting the course is an understatement. I was pleasantly surprised when meeting both Tony & Sam. They’re unbelievable tutors. The support and encouragement they all of their student give is priceless. The course content was a pleasant surprise and really encouraged me to work more creatively. Thank you so so much for all your patience, hard work and support. Honestly I don’t know how you guys do it. Dealing with such a diverse group of people! Massive eye opener you all deserve a medal. I couldn’t do it

I have loved everything about the courses from the artwork, photo shoots and photoshop etc. Tony and Sam have been amazing and have kept me right the whole way though course. Debbie has also been amazing as she gave me notes if I missed anything and helped everyone that needed help in the class. It's been hard doing FMP in lockdown but Tony has helped me, and advised me on what I should be doing. If I hadn't got the work to do I think the lockdown would have been really hard, and it was better to keep busy. Thank you for everything Tony and Sam.

When I first come to Liverpool City College, I never thought that I would be able to cope with such a big change from my old school of 6 years but little did I know it was the best change. All the tutors and students were so supportive and helping during the first week, making it amazing, especially my tutors Tony and Sam. They supported me than any of my old teachers from old school have before. They helped me feel welcome in the college, helped me create work I didn't think I could by supporting me, i.e. Working a camera properly, Photoshop and photoshoots. I wouldn't have been able to do the work I'm doing today without them.  Another tutor also who have helped me would be Anne-Marie, she helped me with my maths to the extent of me knowing I can do the work without stressing of finishing it, she would help me by setting me more work when I've asked so I could practice more, she would tell me I can do the work if I have said I couldn't, she helped me on topics I didn't understand and made sure I understood it before moving on.

The college is truly the best thing to have happened last year, I have my tutors and my friends to thank for! Made it more special! Thank you Tony, Sam and Anne-Marie

Niki

The teachers were really lovely and helpful, the teachers always try to help all the students to complete their tasks in a friendly manor. They treat students with respect and everyone was very welcoming. The school trips were very enjoyable, learning new things was really nice I enjoyed the course.

Carole

I started college for the first time in September 2019 on photography L2.  As a mature student. I was very nervous as I was in a class with hearing students and I am deaf.

I soon got used to it and started to really love the photography course. I have learnt many skills on the course such as photoshop, how to get the best images using to my camera using different lighting, lots of different art techniques, also researching photographers etc. I have also learnt how to organise my work, use an iMac computer so many skills too many to mention. All this I was able to achieve with the support from my tutors Sam and Tony. I had support in class from Kate, Lynn and Mo, with a 1:1 with Nicola for English support. This course has changed my life for the better thanks to Staff.

During Lockdown I was lucky to have an iPad, iPhone and iMac, so I could still send emails to Sam and Tony for guidance/support. I was able to use Zoom to communicate with Sam/Tony through Kate if I needed re-assure or encouragement, if I needed to ask questions about my FMP.  I also had regular Zooms with Nicola (tutorials) who supported me with written annotations,

I had paint, colour supplies at home, but I ordered supplies online when I ran out I enjoy finishing my FMP at home as it kept me busy and Focussed with something to work on, so there was no stress.

I had a wonderful time at the Photography Level 2 course. Sam and Tony were great tutors, great at what they do and very understanding and supportive with mental health and issues I had which I was worried would get in the way of my work. I enjoyed learning from them a lot. Debbie was also very nice and very helpful. We had one lesson with Ben who is also a nice guy and a great tutor. My class was very friendly and I felt comfortable with everyone from very early on. I would definitely recommend this course.

Daisy

I loved doing the level 2 photography course! It has gave me something to focus on with not being in school for 2 years. The staff where really helpful and I had a lot of help from Tony and Sam. I hope to be back for level 3 as this is the best course I have ever been on.

Courtney

I really liked working with the level 2 photography course the staff where amazing towards me I had so much help from Sam and Tony, soon as I entered the course I made friends with everyone within the 2 days of being there! Everyone has been so lovely towards me and hasn’t judged me one bit, the course was amazing I’ll definitely be back for level 3.

Daz

Personally, I think that the course has taught me a lot and technical features of working with a camera. The teachers helped me when I needed help same with support staff however working from home in lockdown wasn't the easiest thing as it was so unexpected and I didn't have enough materials at home to make my work to its full potential. but it’s the thought that counts. I want to go on another course next year as I want to learn other things, this course has been great thank you for teaching me.

Chloe

The course has taught me lots of technical features with my camera and how to use it better! I enjoyed all the art and practical parts to the course as well as working with photoshop. The tutors have been so helpful throughout the whole course. Debbie is the greatest! I wouldn’t change the year at all apart from lockdown was a shame to leave the classroom so soon.
