I will be studying various artists relevant to my chosen subject. Studying another artist’s process and evaluating and interpreting their work will enable me to understand and gain knowledge on how my subject could be portrayed and will also inspire me when developing my own ideas. After studying and analysing an artist’s work and process I intend to produce my own pieces of work in that kind of style. Within my research I will be embedding secondary source imagery I have found on the Internet of my chosen artists’ work. By doing so I will be able to present my research using both secondary source research and my own thoughts in the form of text. I will be able to refer back to this when emulating the artist for inspiration, process, colour theory and form. I will be experimenting with a variety of different physical and digital materials (Photoshop, Illustrator, charcoal, acrylic, watercolour, graphite etc.), techniques and processes when emulating chosen artists. This will allow me to gauge what kind of materials and processes I enjoy and/or think could fit my chosen subject/theme. It will also give me an opportunity to make mistakes and find what materials and processes I may not enjoy. Making mistakes whilst working will also allow me to learn from them and enable me to hone my craft.
