IDEA BEHIND THE ART

These are two primary photographs taken in St Johns Gardens inspired by Elsie Wright and Frances Griffiths who took the Cottingley fairies photographs.  To create these photographs, I uploaded some fairy photos from the internet and using a cutting knife and board I cut the fairies out.  I then placed some sticky tape on the back of the cut outs along with a hair clip and I attached them to leaves and flowers and took the photos.  I decided to upload one of them into Photoshop and change it from colour to sepia as this is the colour of the Cottingley fairies original photos would have been like.

I took a few photos with a lens ball, which turns the image upside down and blurs the background. I like the way these photos turned out because they turned out much clearer.

IDEA BEHIND THE ART

This painting i have created is in inspiration of Van Gogh's Starry Night painting along with a silhouette foreground of Liverpool iconic city Architecture, I wanted to tribute to my city by creating a interesting painting. that with warm faith will may you second look with joy by allowing the patterns to take you to a daydream.

there are so many images of Liverpool with sunsets. with five days to pull something original together. i can call my own during a lockdown i was not entertaining thoughts of a 9 mile bike ride to the city centre curing damp wether. instead  i thought if i use iconic ideas from other artist instead, a more tribute to Liverpool and Van Gogh themselves.

all Liverpool architectural buildings i have taken myself apart from the Liver Building

i decided to go for a more acid psychedelic colour scheme. using the turquoise reflecting with the liver birds colours. i wanted the turquoise to stand out so i used the scarlet reds and oranges. many textures of paint have been applied, giving a sense of depth and overlays of mid tones and highlights. i originally hinted the background black so i have defiantly used a lot of paint.

you was to see the original you could see and touch the texture of the small strips of sky and stairs.

the building landscape id more of a smoother block colour with a few ripples underlaying

i used Acrylic paint and a small the medium paint brushes, i noticed in Van Gogh's he used a technique that’s used with a small knife that gives a plastering texture but i didn’t not enjoy or patients for that so i intended with the paint brush

IDEA BEHIND THE ART

I went on to my photo gallery to get a picture of the boats in Marmaris, Turkey. Then I went on a app on my phone called Snapseed then I pressed on open from device next I went on smooth to darker. Then I went on tune image then brightness −43. The next step I went on details then structure +14. Next go on expand on smart then go on HDR scape to filter stranger +23. then go on glamour glow number 3 on glow +100. Then go on drama- drama 2 and filet strength+ 90. I like this picture because I took it in Turkey from another boat.

IDEA BEHIND THE ART

About my photos- My first photo is a photography piece inspired by shadows and reflection. I used a puddle to show the shoes in the water making a clear reflection, this made it into a perfect photograph I then edited it in photoshop to make it grayscale and add more depth around the puddle.

My second photo is a photography piece inspired by my FMP theme “Culture” the culture I chose to do was Native American and this was one of the objects that is related to that country/culture. I hung it up and wanted the sun to shine through the dream catcher so it would be brighter and bolder.

My last photo is a piece that isn’t really related to any theme or photographer. I love flowers and the way that come out on camera which inspired me to take some photographs while in lockdown of what I had access too which was flowers. I edited it in photoshop to give it a cleaner look and to make it brighter. My favourite piece out of all these would be the shadow photography and it came out better than I thought it would when taking it. Editing the photo made it better than it was originally and looks nicer in grey scale too.

IDEA BEHIND THE ART

My photography is all based on nature, life events and the world as we see it now, I capture photographs of events that happen i.e. New born baby’s, days out but mainly nature being flowers, trees and even footpaths. I love how my photography ends out because most of the time I take random pictures and see what the outcome would be by this way my vision on the photography is mixed and sometimes don’t know the outcome which is good for me.

My main reason why I do the photography I do is because it sometimes has a story behind the image, for instance my baby pictures, a new born baby has arrived to the world and by taking pictures each time it shows the growth in the child. This is my favourite type of photography because as the time goes on the pictures grow each time as the baby grows.

I love doing photography because each time I take a photograph I intend to have a story behind the image always. This was my vision of the photography always has a meaning. My nature photography always does, my flower pictures represents the happiness and joy I find when I’m taking my pictures, from the colours to the details to when I edit. Although, I do mainly nature photography I have done street path photography from the ground taking the picture, this captures what is in everyday life, what we need in places we visit. I.e. My puddle picture, it has the reflection of people standing aside the puddle and a rescue rink in the puddle reflection, by creating a reflection picture creates an amazing image at the end, it creates on how I want my photography to be seen.

This collection of images are to show an EMO theme. On one of the photos, you can slightly see a glitch effect in some ways glitch can be linked to EMO as it shows a broken effect.

CAROLE CLARKSON

IDEA BEHIND THE ART

I captured the first image whist experimenting with auto shutter on my camera at first, I was playing around with it then I loved it so carried on. It looks like a puddle, not running tap water in the sink. I love it.

I went to the back of my garden and I saw dewdrops sitting on the leaves. I thought this was a beautiful image and a perfect opportunity to see nature at its best.

Using a printed image, I decided to experiment using a lighted match all over the picture. I loved the way all the colours merged together and gave the picture a surreal look. I loved outcome so much I have put it on my wall at home.

 IDEA BEHIND THE ART

I’ve chosen these photographs because they are are interesting and eye catching to me and I think the way they have turned out is amazing, my first picture was taken in Liverpool I thought this was an interesting image as I was able to feel happy vibes from it because of the different colours I also decided to choose my image as the colours also brought attention towards it editing. The top right one also shows pretty and unique reflection was taken in Liverpool  the lights and colours give dramatic vibe and is eye catching in my opinion unfortunately this image was not edited but still looks amazing while being took on a Nikon camera.  I used one filter for this image and just adjusted the hue saturation this was also an interesting.

STEPHEN ROWE

IDEA BEHIND THE ART

This photography has its own unique aesthetic created by the editing, on top of the light being shined onto the guitar. What I would do next time is put the guitar in different places in the room and see how that affected the outcome of each of my images.

I have learned that professional equipment is not always necessary to create work that I can be proud of. I have also learned that there are plenty of different ways to create different effects on Photoshop, and that in some cases, even making minor adjustments can change an image a lot. I am going to use what I have learned in these experiments to inspire me for my final work for my FMP.

IDEA BEHIND THE ART

I love this photograph. I like the stylish look to it as if it could be in a magazine. To create this image I had put glitter on her eyes to make them sparkle and added stars on her face with the word dream. This image is a formal photograph. The reason I had used curves on this is because I wanted to enhance the colours. This made her face really bright and outstanding. Techniques have been used in this photograph such as texture, texture is used with the glitter . These images have been inspired by ADB high fashion photography. They are 2 of my favourite Images. I have edited these on Photoshop creating them black and white. The images looks better in black and white as all colours have been taken away making the image more moody. These two photographs betray two similar moods. They are very deep, emotional and empowering.
